Thanksgiving also gives us the chance to talk about one of our favourite Americans, the wonderful Martha Stewart, possibly the original domestic goddess.
Putting to one side her slight brush with the law and a stint behind bars for insider trading, Martha has been inspiring us for years through her beautifully photographed monthly mag Martha Stewart Living, where she informs on how to cook perfect supper parties, celebration cakes and cookies. Best of all, she does craft with an extraordinary amount of style and is full of clever ideas on how to do home made Christmas cards, Holiday wreaths and the above Thanksgiving turkey out of pine cones and pipe cleaners.
Her website has a craft section (as well as great recipe index for those giant portioned American cakes and cookies) with videos on 'how-to' do all the home craft projects you can handle. There are also loads of ideas for presents that might make Christmas gifting more fun (not to mention cheaper) than ever before.
