Ever fancied the idea of owning a restaurant? Well if you are a good enough cook, it might be possible and all in the privacy of your own home. All over the world supper clubs are popping up as a recession busting way to socialize and create a new intimate way to socialize and dine in style.
The Loft is a Supper Club set up by uber chic chef, Nuno Mendez, who hosts weekly tasting menu events every Friday and Saturday at his loft apartment in Kingsland Road, East London. He is using the concept as a platform for new ideas for his next restaurant, Viajante at the Bethnal Green Town Hall, which is scheduled to open in early 2010.
The menus change frequently and each event holds a maximum of 16 guests. Future plans included collaborations with artists who will help create the theme and the mood for each event. Part gallery, part supper club all events will have a strong focus on food.
Bookings can be made for 1 to 16 guests and small groups are encouraged to encourage mingling. The cost is £100 per person and includes all drinks.
