We spotted this lovely book featuring artist/embroiderer Karen Nichol’s beautiful work in the January 2013 edition of Selvedge Magazine (a cracker by the way, it’s the Inspiration issue and it definitely does inspire). Karen has worked closely with the design team Clements Ribeiro in the past and Inacio Ribeiro has written a supportive intro to the book, explaining how Karen’s work was a major source of inspiration for him and his wife Suzanne.
Karen’s work is a mash-ups of vintage haberdashery and found objects, put together in an unexpected juxtaposition of quirky narrative. it’s gorgeous, well worth watching out for.
