Something to mull over while I’m away!

Marni 2

One of my favourite S/S collections (obvs) Marni, features lots of fab bold checks

I’m taking a few more days off (I spoke too soon about feeling a bit better) and will be mainly reading all the books I never have time to finish, watching the first series of the Killing (I know, I know – how late?) and planning my fantasy Spring/Summer wardrobe.

One thing is certain, it will include rather  a lot of checks…

MarniRemember you heard it here first. Checks are the new florals, stripes are the new geometrics and it’s all about black and white – don’t say we don’t keep you informed.

Dries

Another favourite collection by Dries Van Noten, mixes different colours and scales for maximum impact

Dries checks

Love these easy fit shapes in sophisticated checks – Also by Dries

Dries drab

The combination of jaquards and high shine fabrics with checks is perfect.

I’m currently obssesed with finding either a pair of tartan trousers or a flattering kilt, for my “transitional” look. Friends who know me in real life will remember this look from 1978!

PS, Amanda will still be blogging every other day, so stick with us…PPS, Yippee, I have a kilt J, bought at a vintage sale in October last year….practising looking like the Queen right now….’digs out pearls’ Ax

Rita Ora and the Queen

Rita Ora or the Queen, not really fussed – either look will do!

Be back in a few days Jx

Easy to be a bit too optimistic about the time our bodies need, isn’t it? Take it easy – and hope your heating is restored and you’re keeping snug. Helen

Oh Dries….. be still my beating heart and my freaking bank manager, wonder what sort of mess I can make of trying to replicate that look from the high street ,may just restrain myself to a tartan trew! I too remember the mini kilt from long past punk days running round small town Yorkshire horrifying the natives happy days!

Stay snug in bed you are missing not a jot out there except frostbite and get well very soon,

    xx
