Blue is the new pink

I don’t like to say I told you so, but remember who told you about pink back in March last year? Now you can’t move for shades of pink all over the high street and even good old M&S featured a pink coat for A/W, which was so popular it completely sold out within days.

I’m still loving all shades of pink, but being a fashion butterfly,  I’m always keen to move onto the “next big thing” colourwise. Adding new shades is such a great way to update your wardrobe and the injection of a new colour creates lots of new options around existing clothes.

Blue is not a colour I usually like – apart from denim of course – but I am loving the new spring shades of cornflower and baby blue. Mix with deepest inky navy or soft neutrals for a sophisticated look.

Combine a pale blue soft shirt with washed out denim for a more casual look, or add metallic silver and a slash of red, pink or orange lipstick, if you feel more daring.
