Beauty Blender

I am never quite sure about the concept of flawless skin but having spent at least two days of a recent trip to New York in Sephora with my wanna be beauty guru daughter, I am convinced that there are a few things one can do to achieve a more even tone when applying make up. Firstly buy a good brand of foundation (more of this in a later post) and get the assistant to help you match to your skin tone, and secondly buy one of these little bad boys.

Invented by Hollywood make up artist Rea Ann Silva the Beauty Blender is designed to create a ‘flawless complexion with an airbrushed finish’. At first I was sceptical ( I know surprising, right!) as it just looks like a small expensive strangely shaped sponge. But the idea is that it stops you wasting your make up and creates an even finish.

Latex free odour free and hypoallergenic you use it damp – when wet it expands to nearly twice its size ( I love this bit). The round end allow your make up to blend with the texture and tone of your skin, preventing any streaks and the pointed end works for hard-to-reach areas such as around your nose and under the eye area.

Stick it on your Christmas list, or buy for a teenager, they will love you forever.
