Merry Christmas and Happy 2016

It’s been another great year for The Womens Room. We had a make over and as always had some really interesting experiences – writing a blog may be hard work at times, but the fascinating events we are invited to, the people we meet and of course our lovely readers make it all worth while.

Amanada and I both set up our own business’s and have never worked harder in out lives – but as our children leave home we have felt an unexpected sense of liberation and renewed energy and enthusiasm for work.

We are very proud of We Wear Perfume and Unique Style Platform having set them up on our own, with little funding and a lot of passion – the fact that they are well on their way to success proves that ageing doesn’t always have to mean the end of ones career – it can be the start of something new. Olderpreneurs are the future!

Growing older is a blessing and realising that is surely part of the secret of a happy old age. So with that in mind we wish you a Merry Christmas and a great 2016.

Here’s to growing older positively together.

Watching Channel 4 news last night, a group of 9 and 10 year old schoolchildren visited an old people’s home for those with dementia, as part of a school project aimed at raising awareness of dementia in younger children. One 92 year old lady was asked what would she like in 10 years time. Her reply was ” to be alive and to be happy”. Such a simple wish.

Thanks so much for another year of posts – always inspiring, informative, provocative and often very funny. Checking the blog is part of my daily routine that I always enjoy – and never fail to appreciate how much goes into it, even tho’ I rarely say so. So, hygge Christmas to you and yours, and here’s to 2016 as we each grow older and become more ourselves. Helen x
