Style Icon: The Queen

Amanda wrote a post on the queen as a style icon back in 2008 and although I am not the biggest fan of the Royals – all those properties and lack of actual jobs etc etc –  I felt the need to do my own tribute to her style this week.

Gracing the cover of Vanity Fair and reaching 90 is quite an achievement and if there is one thing I admire in a person  – its owning a look – and boy does the Queen own her look.

She is an expert at ‘country classic’ and her ability to work a headscarf is second to none.

There can be no doubt that her regal style has influenced Alsseandro Michele’s recent Gucci collections and yesterday’s Cruise 17 collection – held in Westminster Abbey – referenced eccentric British style at its very best.

A long time lover of the head-to-toe one colour outfit – Gucci took this look to another level for S/S17.

Go Queenie.
