Shopping with experts: Wallis 1923 collection

Do you remember we wrote about these gorgeous dresses by Wallis? Well they are due to be released on April 18th on the website and in selected stores. At £70 they seem like the perfect summer dress, but how good are they on us more mature gals? We asked Clive Reeve, design director about how the over 25s should wear them, here’s what he said;

“The fifties silhouette is surprisingly flattering, the full skirts actually slim your waist. I think these dresses would look great teamed with a wide 50’s belt and some open toe wedges perfect for a summer pub garden drink.”

TWR Have you made them nicely? You know what we’re like about production values, will they stand up to constant wear?

Wallis are so proud to champion good design, fit and quality – we understand that our customer demands better fabrics and cuts and that is at the core of every stage from design to the dress that ends up in our stores. We aim to ensure the dresses flatters and feels great on – it’s about looking and feeling fabulous (without the hefty price tag)”.

There are five dresses (£70 each) and two cardigans (£28 each) and a couple of pairs of shoes (£28), the winter coats sold out as quick as a flash, so stay on your toes and watch out for the dresses on the 18th April, specially if the weather stays as sunny as it’s been in london recently.
