Perfume house Jo Malone has taken on super-stylist Charlotte Stockdale to add a bit of youthful, edgy sparkle to the brand. Charlotte’s first collection, which will be available exclusively in Selfridges from 1st April, features this neon-dipped limited-and-numbered edition bottle of the Red Roses perfume.
Now, you may be wondering, what’s the point of sploshing on a lick of neon paint to the bottle when it’s the insides that count? Putting aside the long and popular tradition of perfume-bottle collecting -head to ebay if you are in any doubt- I think there is only one reason the bottle has been given such a high-vis make-over…to stand out on your dressing table.
Take a look at my (admittedly overstuffed) perfume cupboard above, how hard is it to see the special neon top of the Red Roses bottle amongst the sea of black bottle tops? Can you hear it almost shrieking ‘Pick me! Pick me!’?
Standing out from the overcrowded dressing table, that’s what it’s all about.
Red Roses, in case you are unaware, is the truest rose scent i know.
