Simple Pleasures: cake decorating

WR_cupcakes_01[1]Peggy Porschen is more of an artist than a mere baker and decorator of cakes. We love her attention to detail and amazing colour combinations.

After moving to London in 1998 and graduating top of her class at the prestigious Cordon Bleu school, she went on to work as pastry chef at the Lanesborough Hotel and with master baker Gerhart Jenne at Konditor and Cook. She soon developed her own individual style and set up a successful business, making cakes for major events and celebrities.

She has been instrumental in the move away from traditional cake decorating to contemporary, cutting edge design and has published a series of inspirational books.
Her latest book Cake Chic is out in July and focuses on cakes for special occasions, such as birthdays, girly tea parties, baby showers, hen nights, cocktail parties and anniversaries.

They don't exactly look simple, but they are definitely a pleasure!
