We love Betty!

Betty Magazine issue 4 out now

We are in love with the charming Betty magazine and the hard working team that put it together. We caught up with editors Charlotte Jacklin and Charlotte Melling at the new edition launch party last week and learnt they both have day jobs as well looking after Betty. On its fourth issue (the first two were on line, issues three and four are print) which is out today, the magazine is a burst of sweet, endearing loveliness with good cake recipes and instructions on how to make paper flowers. It’s a refreshing antidote to fashion-blingy-gloss. As the Charlottes point out, ‘Betty’s got a vintage heart, but wears high street shoes’.

This issue is food orientated, Janet Smith, ex Marie Claire food editor has put together some irresistible summer recipes, my sons loved the baked eggs and bacon tarts but it’s worth buying for the gorgeous illustrations by the wonderfully named Calico Melton, alone.
