The Beat That My Heart Skipped

Ideas for entertaining on a snow day

For me the best blogs have an authentic, personal approach. a strong aesthetic, friendly tone of voice and lots of personality. Being aspirational, but attainable is also important. I want the the recipes, interior ideas or fashion advice, to be inspiring, but possible to achieve.

The Beat That My Heart Skipped ticks all those boxes and is fast becoming one of my favourite lifestyle/interiors blogs. Written by Rohini Wahi, who has over a decade in interiors as a design trend analyst, journalist and interiors stylist – with past  clients include Living etc, IKEA Magazine, Harpers Bazaar, Esquire, Moet et Chandon, The Telegraph magazine, BBC Homes and Selfridges.

Rohini has been writing The Beat That My Heart Skipped for seven years and features interior design inspirations and trends, shopping ideas and interviews with designers. She also provides ideas for crafts and entertaining featuring her own unique style, inspired by her life in London and regular travels to Europe and India.

Mumbai wedding inspiration

Some of my favourite recent posts include Southern cooking Ideas for entertaining on a snow day,  inspirations from Rohini’s recent Wedding in Mumbai, a look at the new concept West Elm Market, from US retailer West Elm (I want those wooden serving boards, really badly) and a focus on the lovely new bed linen range from Japanese brand Fog Linen Work.

Rohini also has something of an obsession with period dramas (Jane Austen in particular) and all things magical!
