Sally Muir’s A Dog A Day at the Anthropologie Gallery

sally miuirIt’s turning into a dog week here on TWR, what with Jane’s post on The Dogs Trust Honour Awards on Monday and today we’re looking at artist Sally Muir’s dog painting exhibition. We are big fans of Sally’s previous knit your own dog book, Best In Show which she wrote with Joanna Osbourne and provide relief for those of us who can’t have their own dog (me, due to Middleagedad issues). Not that I ever actually knitted one, but I like to think I could have…..

Anyway, Sally paints beautiful portraits of pets and this year in February, decided to do a year-long project,  A Dog A Day on her Facebook page, where she’s painting or sketching a picture of a different dog every day. The resulting artwork to date has been grabbed by Anthropologie in King’s Road for a month long exhibition in the gallery space. If dog portraits are your thing, you might like to take a look.

sally muir 07At the end of the month, on Saturday 31st August, Sally will be based in the gallery and available to make a quick sketch of your pooch, who you will obviously need to take with you. Be warned, you will need to apply for a slot, and they are sure to book fast so contact the Anthropologie office for a booking. Email the team on [email protected]

sally muir 01The Exhibition of around 102 paintings is on from August 3rd to September 9th 2013 at the Anthropologie King’s Road store gallery space. I really MUST get a dog…..
