I’m a huge fan of La Montana scented candles, from the delicious fragrances and the artful illustrations to the evocative stories surrounding founder Cassandra Hall’s Spanish village home, on which the brand is based, it all makes me want to up sticks and move to Spain. They are also very well priced for the quality compared to some scented candle brands we could mention.
The candles are available from an assortment of stores but Cassandra found that many new customers were hearing about the brand (it has had some cracking endorsements, not least from TWR fav India Knight) and heading straight to the website. She wanted to make the web selection process more engaging and accurate for customers, so has worked with an innovative scent company to crystallise the fragrances onto cards (behind clear, resealable labels), recreating a perfect olfactory reflection of each candle’s scent.
The pack of seven cards are like a sophisticated and much prettier version of the old scratch and sniff ones. The peel-back sticker can be resealed after use, or left exposed for a mini-scent experience, as I am currently doing. Sitting next to my laptop is an open card of the smoky, leathery Alfredo’s Cafe, I’m am pretending I’m working in an artisan cafe in Spain….
Selecting your favourite scent then becomes much easier and enjoyable, although good luck narrowing it down to just one as they are all fab. Three Kings is all frankincense, pine needles and festive sweets, just how you want your house to smell at Christmas. My scent cards have arrived already! What a great idea. I’m sat here sniffing the “Three Kings” one (cederwood, frankincense and myrrh) and I confirm it is fabulous. This may be the candle I have to order in time for the Christmas season but it’s going to be a tricky choice!
