Something for the weekend: Anita’s Vintage Fashion Fair

Bags

We love Anita’s Vintage fairs, they are stuffed to the brim with fabulous vintage treasures at very reasonable prices. I once picked up a black dress in the thickest, most gorgeous 50s cotton lace, trimmed with ridged grosgrain trim, a season before Prada gave lace a big fashion moment, it cost £10. I felt (briefly) very smug.

This Sunday if you are at a loss for something to do then get along to the Century Theatre in Notting Hill, W11, which will be a fine setting for this month's show. We'll be checking out the 60s dresses to fulfil our need to look like Miss Holloway from the BBC's Mad Man. Be warned though, hours can be lost browsing through the clothes, accessories and jewellery, not to mention the added draw of home made cakes, toasted cheese and pickle sandwiches and mugs of reviving tea.
