At last our wishes have been granted, as traditional men’s shoemaker Grenson have created a womenswear range. Every time I see a pair of the beautiful men’s tan brogues I long to be able to wear them, but sadly having size 37 feet,it is just not possible – until now. Having made men’s shoes for over 100 years, their website states they have used exactly the same construction techniques as those used on the men’s shoes, but made the lasts slightly narrower to suit women’s feet. We really hope they haven’t made them too narrow and ‘girly’ or they will so miss the point. Fingers crossed. We have no idea how much they will be, but quite frankly don’t care, as like Churches they will hopefully last forever.
You can buy them online at My-wardrobe.com or from the Grenson shop on Hanbury Street, where I have been hounding the staff for an arrival date. The say a couple of weeks, we’ll let you know.
