Planet alert: Mercury is in retrograde

*WARNING – this post may not make you feel good*

I am not usually one for taking too much notice of my horoscope and have no time for people who go see mediums and have their tarot cards read. I am a creative sort with an over active imagination, who doesn’t need a women in a shawl and gypsy earrings to provide me with a fantasy vision of the future.

There are two astrological things however, I do take notice of, which have a noticeable effect on my life – the moon and the planets. My best friend and I send each other moon warning texts, when it is waxing or full – ‘Full moon tomorrow, not sleeping and hate husband, my brush is right up’, or ‘Have small pointy horns growing out of the top of my head, is this normal? Massive argument with teen this morning over nothing, I am a maniac’. We find knowing why we are more mad than usual, quite helpful and MAD even buys a moon calendar now, so that the whole family can be aware of when it isn’t a good idea ‘ to put your fingers in the cage’.

If you too are a sensitive sort, you need to be aware that as from today, Mercury is in retrograde, and this is serious! I have no idea what this means from an astrological perspective, but I do know that Mercury is the planet which governs all transportation and communication issues. This could mean delays, cancellations and problems with technology, machinary, transport and any form of official documents.

It is not a good time to

  • Start anything new
  • Make important decisions
  • Buy computers, appliances, TVs, radios, etc.
  • Travel without back-up plans
  • Sign or negotiate contracts
  • Buy a car
  • File a lawsuit
  • Start a new job
  • Begin a new class
  • Go on a  first date
  • Expect things to move quickly
  • Take anything for granted

In short – you may as well go back to bed until it ends on the 14th of December – and apologies if this is your first day in a new job in IT, law or the transport industry!

I am writing this on a laptop on the floor, as my WIFI won’t work, the dog just knocked a cup of tea onto the touch pad and the only mouse I could find has a ridiculously tiny short lead!

My sister and I generally are on the phone around the time of the full moon warning each other!
This retrograde business sounds like the last thing I need right now – I have important things to post today – are they going to get lost???
Also my vet tells me on good authority that he gets more injured dogs (from scraping) around the time of the full moon, so there must be something in it……

My daughter is epileptic and we all swear that she has seizures only around the time of the full moon!! Obviously I am not making light of the situation (sometimes it is the only way forward!!!) but you do have to wonder if the planets and the moon do have some strange pull on us earthlings!!

  • Johanna says:

Come on, ladies! Transportation, official documents, technology, machinery etc are always causing problems, aren’t they? Mugs of tea will always splash over keypads if they get the chance. Nothing to do with the moon or Mercurey. This is a self fulfilling prophecy if you ask me.

  • Jane says:

Oh Johanna you may mock – but beware – you can’t underestimate the power of Mercury – or Tesco Direct!!
    Jx

“Not a good time to go on a first date”? Bugger, I’ll have to let them all down gently and re-arrange for December. In my dreams……!

  • Johanna says:

@Jane I’ll leave a little offering for Mercurey in the garden tonight just to be on the safe side ;-)

I love this. I so need to do this with my friends and I. It’s amazing because we’re thousands of miles apart and our moods almost always line up. Maybe this is what it’s all about. So sorry to hear about all the technical mania in your house. I hope it settles down for you soon.
