Congrats to Kate Evans, who won best new independent perfume at the Fragrance Foundation last Thursday for her first perfume Precious One. It was launched last year (we mentioned it here ) and was created by Angela Flanders for her daughter Kate’s Spitalfields boutique, Precious. The fragrance is “an exotic and seductive chypre with tuberose and jasmine top notes, floating on a base of oak moss, with a deep base of vetivert, and a touch of sultry civet ” and smells fab.
FiFi Judge and Jasmine Award-winning writer Persolaise, who was on the judging panel of experts, said: “In short, Precious One reminds us that most of the stuff that passes for ‘perfume’ these days doesn’t possess enough character to make it to the bargain bin at TK Maxx, let alone stand the test of time and become a classic. A real gem.”
We love Kate and Angela and we are thrilled that the pair have been rewarded with a gong, they were up against strong competition too from Mister Marvelous by Byredo, Pomelo by Jo Loves and Reckless by Roja Dove.
Precious One is available as 50ml Eau de Parfum £65, 30ml Eau de Parfum £45 or a Luxury Candle £40 exclusively from Precious in Spitalfields or Angela Flanders or on line at Angela Flanders.
