Christmas Gift suggestions from My Showcase

Oxford StThere are only 23 days till Christmas people and if like me, you are only just starting to take present buying seriously, we thought you might appreciate a few gift ideas.

Online or local are the only way I shop these days, as I love the unique choice of products I can find in local shops, markets and craft fairs and the ease of shopping online. As I’ve got older, the thought of shopping in a mall, or even worse Oxford Street is my idea of Hell, unless ofcourse it’s John Lewis, but that’s more like visiting a refined aunt for afternoon tea.

With beauty products I like it if someone can point me in the direction of something they have used and love, as I can read all the marketing/advertising rubbish in the world (I don’t btw), but unless someone actually tells me a product is amazing, I don’t believe it.

So I got together with the lovely people at My Showcase – who really know their stuff – to pull together a list of must have products to create an ideal Christmas shopping list.

First up, are Mums (obvs) and what could be nicer than a luxurious bath oil.  This one from Beatitude is called Patience – as that’s something mum’s have a lot off – and is uplifting and super hydrating and contains essential oils of rosemary, ginger, lavender and juniper berry, as well as plant oils of oat oil, camellia, peach kernel and daikon radish seed. Not only is it a bath oil, you also get your five a day!

Or if you fancy something a little more relaxing, you could also try the lovely soothing bath oil by Kukui, which is particularly good for sensitive skin.

My Show case bath oilNext up are Dads and brothers, particularly those who could do with upping their cleansing routine. The Gentlemans Tonic Exfoliating Facial Scrub is a luxurious deep cleansing scrub, made with natural ingredients, such as Bamboo particles (how fab) and it only needs to be used three times a week.

Or if the men (or indeed anyone) in your life travel a lot, you might want to buy them De Mamiel Altitude Oil, which, as someone who responds really badly to artificial environments, sounds like a great idea.

You simply sprinkle a few drops of the antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic blend on a tissue and inhale deeply to feel the effects. Great for flights, public transport, or when you have a colds, sinus congestion or hay fever. Who knows it might even help with “man flu”.

My Showcase menSisters and sister in Laws are always a bit easier, as usually they like what you like. I like to get my lovely sis in laws something luxurious and the Mitchell and Peach Body Cream ticks all my boxes, rich and indulgent, with nice packaging and a perfect price (£36).

I also like the Relax scented Candle by Neom which would be great for a stressed out multi tasking woman. A calming blend of French lavender, sandalwood, juniper and geranium – it’s also a good one for all those insomniacs in your life.

My ShowcaseAnd lastly teenage girls love nothing better than a beauty product, which can be tricky as the fine line between too adult and overly childish is a difficult one. But the Elizabeths Daughter travel set is the perfect teenage gift. Grown up packaging, but created specially for young skin, the handy travel size products are great for trying out the products.

My showcase Elizabeths daughterIf you want to experience the products before you buy, you might want to take a trip to the My Showcase pop up shop which starts on Wednesday until the 8th of December. It’s at The Study, 10a Blandford St, W1 and the team will be on hand to talk you through all the 24 products they have on offer.
