When the lovely people at the Ace Hotel offered to give away a nights stay to a lucky attendee at our salon, back in October, we were delighted. We carefully placed the lucky ticket under one of the seats and hoped none of our best friends or family sat on it.
The winner was Jane Brocket the writer of one of my favourite blogs and author of some great sewing, baking and knitting books. We were delighted as it couldn’t have gone to a nicer person and as jane lives outside London, it was even more special.
She loved the hotel (read about it here) and like us felt really comfortable there. Years and years of staying in posh/hipster hotels on work trips have taught me that the sign of a really excellent establishment, is to make you feel welcome, no matter how old, rich or fashionable you are.
I love nothing more than a fabulous looking, designer clad door man, who is old enough to be my son, making me feel good as he hails me a cab in the morning – and the Ace hotel are brilliant at this.
Having stayed in the New York Ace and visited the Shoreditch Ace many times (check out the restaurant for a special occasion), I can thoroughly recommend it for a visit to London. And if you are taking your teenagers, they will love it and you for being such hip parents!!
