One of our favourite bag makers, Alison Lloyd, has been in business with her Ally Capellino brand for over 30 years. She has produced fabulous, lust-making bags and gorgeous accessories for all of that time and her brand goes from strength to strength, constantly inventing even more lovely things to tempt us with.
This beautiful image of Ally was taken by her photographer daughter Agnes Lloyd Platt, who is also responsible for some of the great Ally Capellino brand images. We met Agnes when we went to learn how to tie posies of flowers with That Flower Shop in her mum’s Notting Hill Store, she seems as nice and as talented as her mum.
Ally, who is was suggested as a weekend women by TWR reader Jo , is clearly an inspiring grown up woman.
She looks fabulous, rocking a ‘pageboy’ haircut, a tricky look at any age.
I still have a tweed suit and some linen trousers from Ally Cap, wish I could afford her bags.

Fabulous. Very happy to report that I snapped up the AC Amy bag in cream from the Liberty sale, at a ‘not bad’ £120, made sweeter by using. £50 Liberty gift card. I second the sample sale idea, they are fantastic and Jo Gordon also sells her beautiful knitwear at them too.
Ah, Ally Capellino. Years ago I lived near her studio in Wapping. And I still have a fabulous jacket from around the early 90s. I still wear it. But what I need to know is – where is that fabulous coat she is wearing from?!
I miss her clothes so much, I have quite a few pieces tucked away but I wish she’d bring back (even) a small line of womenswear, we’d stock it! x
