We love the Queen here at the Women’s Room, she’s one of our favourite dressers, mostly because she’s one of the only woman in the UK that really has an original dress sense.
OK, so she’s been a little stuck in the Hardy Amies frump-chic groove, but no one can wear a brooch or hat as well as her or do top-to-toe scarlet with such panache. So we were very excited to see a newly sharpened style-sense coming through in the recent pictures of her trip to Slovenia, where she wore a fur trimmed metallic-ribbed coat and hat combo that was really rather gorgeous.
The outfit, brought to our attention in this week’s Hello! has a Prada-ish feel to it, with that neat lady-like trimness (has she lost weight?) and the super-lux fabric texture. And is that a silver sequined shift dress she’s wearing underneath? Go sparkle, lady!
As always her accessories are impeccable but this time they’re heavy on the glamour; the fox fur trim (so softening against her skin), the heeled black patent boots and framed handbag, the pewter leather gloves and the iridescent shine of those five-string pearls (more face flattering).
We’re loving this new look and the fact that at 82 she’s still prepared to revamp her look to stay regally untouchable. (Royal) granny chic rules.

Hi! Style icons often represent consistency more than trend-following. Classic looks highlight how materials and tailoring influence longevity. Fashion discussions usually branch into sourcing and upkeep. Mentions associated with soolinen fit well into that context, focusing on refined choices. Timeless elements often feel relevant regardless of changing seasons.
