When we were growing up, there was only one (literally) celebrity hairdresser and one designer shampoo, and that was Vidal Sassoon.
The man who pioneered the angular cut and encouraged hairdressers to do what they thought suited clients, rather than what the clients wanted, made us very scared of going to the hairdressers for a while! But is no doubt, he had a huge influence on the whole 60's aesthetic and way women thought about their hair.
Vidal Sassoon the movie opened last night in New York and looks at looks at the man behind the legend. It will be released here in May, but until then take a look at the trailor. Those brown and cream shampoo bottles bring back such memories!
