Gifts from the Garden: 100 Gorgeous Homegrown Presents by Debora Robertson

Warning: this is a completely biased review, Debora Robertson the author of this gorgeous new book is a friend of mine.

Last year Debora gave up her job as a food editor for Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall to write her first book, Gifts from the Garden, which combines all the things she loves, gardening, cooking, crafts and making things look gorgeous.

Divided into Flowers and Herbs, and Fruit and Vegetables, it’s packed full of easy to make projects such as potted bulbs in teacups, decorated personal seed packets, lavender, rose and chamomile bubble bath, flower and fruit lip balms and a pizza herb window box. I love the idea of using flowers and foliage for wrapping presents and of course there are lots of delicious edible treats like toffee apples, herbal teas, spice rubs, chilli jams, courgette muffins and quince vodka.

Everything is accessable and uncomplicated, yet stlll sophisticated and in contrast to many other craft books, the ideas are truely original.

Beautifully designed, featuring images of Debora’s adorable cats and Barney the dog, this is a book that will inspire you to actually make things, rather than just look at the pictures. Buy it now and you can make all your Christmas presents!
