All I want for Christmas: Beauty must haves

Must Have Beauty ProductsI never really like beauty pages in magazines as they seem to be filled with whatever products the editors have been sent that week and the re-hashed versions of press releases just aren’t convincing. I much prefer to read a list of the items the beauty bloggers and industry experts just can’t live without.

I recently went to a talk with beauty writer Sali Huges and her honest no nonsense advice contained a great combination of high street (cheaper) brands and luxury products. We also did a shoot with Good Housekeeping last week (more of that to come) and the lovely makeup artist who made us look fabulous (wish I had someone to do that everyday) shared some of her favourite products too.

So here is a list of the things I will asking for for Christmas or adding to my bathroom shelf in the new year.

My beauty addict daughter constantly tells me I should be using a primer before my foundation and when I do it really does make a difference, the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is supposed to be one of the best.

Sali Huges says blusher is the one product that will instantly pep you up if you feel tired and drab and our GH make artist used the CharlotteTilbury bronzer to give me instant cheekbones.

Sali Hughes also loves the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and says it’s way better that the YSL Touche Eclat which is my usual go to concealer – but if it’s good enough for Sali….

Hydation is apparently vitally important for our skin and we often confuse dryness with lack of hydration and Sali recommended two products for hydration Burts Bees Hydration mask and Vichy Aqualia Thermal Sleeping Mask.

And last but not least everyone I speak to seems to rave about the  Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv range which is super expensive but apparently fabulous – so if anyone from my family is reading, anything from this range Christmas please.
