Christmas is definitely coming early for vintage clothing fans this year, 19 days early to be precise, on the 6th December at Wembley, when the legendary costumier Angels will hold its first ever sale to the general public of excess stock (due to just having too damn much after its merger earlier this year with the BBC’s costume department).
It’s going to be one of those fabulous proper jumble sales, where everything will be in cardboard boxes and you you’ll be able to rummage to your hearts content. As well as a massive selection of vintage clothing and accessories, dating from the 1920s onwards, the sale also includes redundant costumes from TV series and films, uniforms, jewellery (some broken but great for beading and appliqué) and even old periodicals and books.
Purchase is by the bagful, stuff as much as you can into a medium bag £10 or a super size one £20. Oh tidings of comfort and joy…..
