Now we're back from holiday and seriously thinking about winter clothes, it's good to see Toast's early autumn collection is online for us to pick over. Nice things have happened to the Toast website, you can now look at the catalogue on line rather than waiting to get it through the post. Also there's a style stories section, which shows you styling and outfit ideas that makes online shopping a little more inspiring.
But the best bit is the Toast Travels section, which is run by the Toast family member Rachel (she's founders Jamie and Jessie's daughter). Rachel runs this like an on line cultural magazine, making good use of the sourcing and inspiration trips the Toast team go on as features and blog postings.
Rachel's put together a great video on the recent autumn catalogue shoot, which took place in Venice and South Tyrol (above) and there are some lovely videos of markets the team have visited on their trips as well as a list of the world's best markets to visit. For Autumn the features section is all about stories and will update monthly on new subjects, the launch story is written by Nancy Durrant, arts commissioning editor for The Times, who charts the rise of the Hannah Barry gallery.
When we saw Rachel at the press day back in May, she was excited about expanding the concept and Toast Travels has just launched on its own website location but you can still access it through the Toast website. Worth keeping an eye on, we think.
Not that we are quite ready to buy anything yet, but we do love this Varda dress, below, which Jessie was wearing when we saw her at the press day.
