We are all abou the design documentary at the moment and like nothing more than an insight into our creative icons lives.
Charles and Ray Eames were widely regarded as America’s most important designers. Best remembered for their mid-century furniture, the Eames studio also created an amazing range of other products, from splints for wounded military during World War II, to photography, interiors, graphics, games, films and toys.
Their influence on design and the American way of life meant they became icons of industrial design. ‘Eames: The Architect & The Painter’ draws from archives, as well as new interviews with friends, colleagues and experts to capture the professional and personal story of Charles and Ray.
Available on DVD from the 24th Sept.
I’ve been looking forward to this coming out – the trailer looks great.
There is also an exhibition about Charles and Ray’s graphic and film design work at PM Gallery in Ealing in West London.
