If you ride a bike, push a buggy or simply negotiate your way around town with shopping and a laptop, you will understand the need for a practical and stylish bag. Not always that easy to come by, bike panniers especially, seem to fall into either the girly/floral or bike courier/masculine category.
Goodordering is a bag company started by Jacqui Ma, who knows a thing or two about designing bags. For the last 10 years she has designed for the likes of Debenhams, Tripp, Jasper Conran and Puma. She is also a keen commuter cyclist , battling her way through London in platform heels and impractical dresses on a daily basis.
We used to work with Jacqui at WGSN, so can personally vouch for her taste and ability to spot a good idea!
Jacqui and her partner Mia are inspired by Japanese school bags and retro travel bags. Check out their fab Tumblr to see more of their inspiration – you can tell Jacqui works in trend forecasting!
The bags are well designed, practical and feminine without being overtly girly – I love the lap top compartment in the backpack – and very reasonably priced.
Jacqui is mostly funding the project herself, but as with with any start up, she needs to raise awareness and is using the brilliant Kickstarter site to help crowd fund some more captial. Take a look and even if you can’t pledge, please spread the word about what promises to be a great brand.
