When our favourite department store John Lewis asked us if we would do a Womens Room version of their Fashion Edit we were only too happy to help – any excuse to go fantasy shopping and I have been looking for a red coat for a while, so was delighted to find this one from French Connection – which is the perfect shape and formed the basis of my edit.
In the battle of the Autumn Winter advertising campaigns, John Lewis wins hands down for me every time. Classic, with a nod to fashion and not celebrity obsessed, the John Lewis Fashion Edit says, “we know what we are doing, we care about quality and we are confident enough to know who we are and what our customers want”.
The Edit pulls out the key pieces that make up Winter Luxe Collection, which is great if you are the kind of shopper who likes a little help.
My edit includes bright red leather gloves worn with the gorgeous baby pink coat and sky blue cashmere. I added a pair of boyfriend jeans from Whistles, with chunky brogues to give the Womens Room edit more of a casual feel. Happy socks are my absolute favourite sock brand and I would roll up the jeans to reveal a cheeky pop of colour and pattern.
I’d finish off with the lovely bag from the new JL label Kin – which is definitely going on my Christmas list.
