Like almost everyone else I know, I have a dream that involves living in a mid century house by the sea or in the woods. The clean lines and open spaces are inspiring for their simplicity and light and lend themselves to a pared back way of living that appeals more and more as I get older.
This film by NOWNESS takes us on a tour of the home of architect Ray Kappe which is often referenced as one of the greatest houses in Southern California. Designed as a family home 50 years ago, the tree house sits among sycamore and eucalyptus trees on a hill in LA’s Rustic Canyon and looks much the same today as it did a half-century ago.
Timeless perfection.
