At last a Uniqlo collaboration with an older woman -ok she’s a stick thin, insanely glamorous fashion editor, but isn’t fashion all about aspiration?
61 year old Carine Roitfeld, founder and editor-in-chief of CR Fashion Book, Harper’s Bazaar global fashion director and former editor of French Vogue has partnered with Uniqlo to create a collection based on her style.
“I started from the idea of clothes that I would want to wear myself, and developed this into clothes that anyone would want to wear,” Roitfeld told Harpers Bazzaar.
The 40-piece collection was created in collaboration with Naoki Takizawa, design director of Uniqlo and includes Roitfeld’s signature pencil skirts, skinny fit blazers, simple trousers, accessories and a collection of decidedly dodgy looking tops!
But I’ll reserve judgement for when the collection hits Uniqlo on October 29.
Love that Uniqlo do these collaborations but they always under order. The Lemairie collection sold out within 2 hours on the website and good luck with trying to get a size other than a xxs in the Ines range. Carine Rotfield is not my taste but fingers crossed for anyone trying to buy the items!
