I know we’ve reached Peak Hygge now, but I do love these shearling lined plimsoles from Superga and The White Company. They seem like the very best version of Hygge for your feet.
Regular readers know I have something of a sheepskin habit (or shearling, as everyone seems to be calling it now), but really, what could be more lovely that wrapping your sockless feet (fashion standards must be kept and it’s still cool not to wear socks with trainers) in snugly sheepskin without it having to be a pair of Uggs. I have these on as I type and they are just fabulous. I am aware there may be issues of double-sheepskin to watch out for when things get very cold, but for now, these are not coming off my feet.
My only disappointment is that the soles are not sheep-skinned (just the sides and tongue flap) presumably so you don’t completely overheat, although you could always make your own like Jane Birkin does, or buy these sheepskin liners from Hunter.
Buy the Superga’s here.
Penelope Chilvers does a slightly more boot shaped trainer, lined in sheepskin and they have sheepskin under the foot, too.
