If you chance this weekend, catch the last day of the Hermès Festival des Métiers at the Saatchi Gallery in the Kings Road London. It’s on until the 27th May and lets you glimpse into the ateliers of Hermès by watching the brand’s artisans at work. You can ask questions as you watch scarves being printed and watches built. It’s similar to the Forever Leather exhibition we wrote about last year and well worth a diversion for.
I nipped in yesterday and loved the way all the artisan workers and their translators (everyone’s French, obvs) were wearing the Hermès scarves tied in lots of creative ways, here’s a few of the workers close up, with their scarves.
Beautiful knot placement, left and a waist tie, right.
Above, traditional and a neat flat-fold tie (fold the scarf flat into a long rectangle and tie low).
Cowboy style, tied at the back of the neck….
Three knots in the above right hand scarf were cute and easy, or just create an obi by wrapping it above your jeans waistband.
Be quick if you want to see the exhibition as it’s only on until Monday. Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone!
Coo – didn’t know about this at all! Will be hot-footing it to Chelsea…just loved the”forever leather” exhibition. Thanks for the thumbs up.
Pleasure Monix, hope you enjoyed it. A
