Christmas book wish list

Books

Somehow it feels wrong to buy coffee table books for yourself, it's just a little over indulgent and flash. So when someone asks what we'd like for Christmas we usually have a list of huge OTT books we'd love to own, but can't quite bring ourselves to buy. Here are a few we have been browsing recently, which would also make great presents for style conscious friends and family.

My Favourite Dress by Gity Monsef is a must for fashionistas, featuring on 75 designers, stylists, photographers, fashion editors etc, it tells the story of their favourite dress.

We have long been obsessed by the cult film Grey Gardens and the lives of big and little Edie Bouvier Beale, the high society mother and daughter and reclusive cousins of Jackie O, who lived together amid the decay and disorder of their ramshackle East Hampton mansion. Edie Bouvier Beale: A Life in Pictures is a pictorial account of the iconic little Edie, and features some truly fabulous images.

Perfect English Cottage by Ros Byam Shaw explores the inspirational style of the English countryside and features everything from a perfect roses round the door cottage to a pared down Georgian gem. With sections on how to achieve the look, its a must have for anyone who loves eclectic interiors.

More is More by Hutton Wilkinson, looks at the over the top style of designer and artist Tony Duquette, known for his fantastic interiors and fabulous parties. The beautifully illustrated book explores Duquettes views on design and interiors, and includes the never been seen before film, Lady Queen of the Angels.
