Culture Chanel directed by Jean-Louis Froment

This one is for readers who are building up their own personal fashion library and Chanel geeks only.

The hefty and a tad pricey Culture Chanel, Directed by Jean-Louis Froment, published by Abrams Books at £140, is a visual treat of a book which explores the culture and artists that have influenced the Chanel brand, under both Gabrielle and Karl Lagerfeld. Brought out to accompany the important Culture Chanel exhibition in Shanghai in 2011, it’s full of lovely images, some of which I’ve never seen before of Chanel and her friends Picasso and Jean Cocteau as well as a fascinating glimpse of her friend Misia. Offers valuable insight into the building of the Chanel brand, in particular on how essential art, music and external cultural influences were and still are, on the creative process.

The book is out in early March, so start saving now. Order here
