If you are starting to think about what theme you are going for this Christmas at home (what do you mean you don’t have one – are you insane?) This new book by our favorite knitwear designer and stylist, Ros Badger is sure to inspire you.
Written with Elspeth Thompson, who is sadly no longer alive, Homemade, Christmas and Festive decorations is an easy to use guide to making your own decorations for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Valentines and Birthdays. There are 25 ideas, complete with patterns and easy to follow guides and it’s a great one to buy now in order to give yourself enough time to actually make presents and decorations, rather than just looking at the pictures and imagining yourself proudly saying to your family on Christmas day, “yes I made it.”
Homemade, Knit, Sew and Crochet also by Ros and Elspeth is another lovely guide to making things for the home. Including an ipod cover, tea cosy, practical fabric bag, bunting and out door cushions (among others), it’s a great combination of sewing, knitting and crochet projects. They look useful, easy to make and most importantly aesthetically pleasing.
Just added the Christmas book to my list, I think a social event would be a great idea!
