Tomorrow we open our first ever pop up Christmas shop with those fabulous people from Grenson’s Shoes. Today we will be bossing people around organising the layout of the store and making all the beautiful goods we have selected look suitably fabulous for our opening on Thursday.
Well not just us, obvs, the Grenson’s team are the experts here, we’ll probably mostly be going ‘ooh I need one of those!’ and ‘that’s perfect for middleagedad!’ as we unpack stock. In fact you’ll be lucky if there’s anything left by the time you get there as we may have bought everything, such is the covetable-ness of the things we are selling.
What have we got, I hear you say? Well there will be the wonderful Dawson’s Denim -I need one of the denim pinnies for cooking Christmas lunch, Blue Linen’s best selection of vintage linen table clothes and napkins to dress your Christmas lunch with – apparently this year it’s all about layering colours and textures – as well as Christmassy smells and potions to keep you sane from Knots Elemental.
Then we’ve got knitted things from Quinton & Chadwick (I want the Fairisle mittens) and hugely desirable silk scarves from Emma Shipley, as well as very reasonably priced prints from Emma too, which are perfect if the scarf is out of reach price wise. We have vintage accessories and bags from The House Of Vintage as well as the more contemporary Buckitt Bag (possibly the only bag you’ll ever need, well, that and a back pack) with its matching purse and key ring. And flowers, delivered by bike if needed, from Petalon. Are you tempted yet?
Have you bought your Christmas cards? Well, we have those, from Paper Plain, as well as ‘thank you’ cards for all the presents you’re going to receive, and hand printed paper notebooks (with matching boxes) from Tobias And The Angel. We’ve got extremely well priced gifts from those fabulous Merchant & Mills people, although I defy anyone to buy just one thing from the beautiful selection of haberdashery on offer…
And for the creatives and hard-to-please-because-they-have-everything in your family we have Indytute and their list of clever presents of workshops and lessons to buy, Jane is signing up for Extreme Garnishing and I quite fancy Blues Guitar…
But wait! You can actually learn the Blues from ex Vibrator and Strangler John Ellis! Who will be seranading us with his guitar and will happily teach you too if you have five minutes to spare (5.00-6.00 0n Thursday). It’s all going on, I tell you!
And did we mention the GIN? If you sign up for our Thursday night Bloggers workshop here, (it’s free but spaces are limited so booking essential) or pop along to the Gin X G-Lab (where you can order a bespoke pair of Grenson’s in just the colours you like) on Friday, then there will be gin, from Sipsmith, too.
Why would you want to be anywhere else?
