When PetsPyjamas got together with portrait photographer Gerrard Gethings and the Dogs Trust to create an exhibition to celebrate canine life and raise money to help rescue dogs, who knew it would create such so much interest. The Company of Dogs launch party was a star studded affair, full of fabulous outfits and amazing dogs, some of whom weren’t quite sure how to act at a party – yes I’m looking at you tiny, shivery dog who pooped right next to Lucy from M.I.C’s very glamorous shoes!
The exhibition which runs until the 29 March features portraits of Elle MacPherson, Yasmin Le Bon, Alex James, Daisy Lowe, Gok Wan, Charlotte Olympia, Mark Ronson and Peaches Geldof’s dogs, as well as heart warming images of 20 of the Dogs Trust rescue dogs.
The pictures are available for auction on the Pets Pyjamas website. The highest bidder will receive the signed and framed photograph of their choice, with all proceeds going to the Dogs Trust.
Photographer Gez said said of the exhibition;
“Dogs sharing their lives with the rich and famous and dogs yet to be homed have been lit and photographed in the same setting. It is striking that although the animals are physically and socially so diverse they behave in almost exactly the same way. It would be difficult to guess the ones going home with Elle Macpherson and those waiting for a new home – they all crave human love and will all do anything for a piece of cheese.”
PetsPyjamas gallery is at 81 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4QS and is open from 10am until 5pm.
