Style Icon: Nick Wooster

how-to-dress-like-nick-wooster-1I have been trawling through the latest menswear catwalk collections this week for the day job and have been taken with the number of fabulously stylish older men outside the shows. Obviously they work in fashion so they are bound to be stylish, but I’m struck by the way they manage to combine looking classic and super fashionable without looking contrived.

One person in particular keeps popping up on social media and is famous for for his attention to detail and ability to put together a fabulous outfit. 55 year old Nick Wooster (full name Nickelson Wooster) is from Salina, Kansas and has had a illustrious career as a clothing buyer at Barneys, design director at Ralph Lauren, fashion director at Neiman Marcus, president of John Bartlett and trend development officer at JC Penney.

It was his 398K followers on Instagram that attracted Italian menswear company Lardini to ask him to be their brand ambassador and together they have developed a Wooster + Lardini collection, which recently launched in a pop up shop in Selfridges.

If only I could persuade Middleaged dad to dress like Nick!
