A quick post to inform you of some terrific trousers from Whistles. I’ve loved my wide leg denim trousers from the brand (these ones) and last week I saw someone wearing a pair of cut off orange trousers with frayed hems which looked fabulous worn with a loose white shirt (image below). When I asked where they were from (I have no shame) she said Whistles.
Now, I already have my eye on a pair of gorgeous Whistles winter Selby trousers, spotted at the press day (above) that are similarly cut off length but in tangerine-dream wool. There was much raving about them by other press people as I remember. These look like a transitional pair that taps that enthusiasm and gives us all an upbeat colour jolt for the remains of the summer.
I thought we were supposed to be over orange but I’m pleased it’s still hanging around as it’s such a cheerful colour and goes brilliantly with navy or black. Anyway, just saying. They are here if you are interested. The Selbys launch early autumn..
I gasped when I saw those! Would also look amazing with grey (less Halloween than black). Thank you for your diligence Amanda. X
Grey is a good idea, Monix, and I shop for YOU, not for me…… Ax
I’ve just had a look at the orange frayed ones. They are £130 which is at the upper end for what I consider to be a fashion item rather than a long-term investment. But what really annoys me is they are dry clean only! They are cotton! Why are they not machine washable? Life is too short for everyday trousers not to be easy care.
Good question Jill, I’ve certainly stuck my frayed bottom jeans from Whistles in the wash and they’ve been fine. May be better value waiting for the Selby although that will be dry clean too I suspect. Ax
Expandable waists ? And I mean drawstring not Mum elasticated …… Not everyone is a standard size 12 ( well, OK 16) and would love the look of these with a longer tunic top or big shirt as Amanda points out, so a tailored waistband is somewhat irrelevant.
