So fashion month is over and we can all breathe a sigh of relief and get on with our lives (what do you mean you were anyway?).  Here are the things you need to know about Autumn/Winter 16/17  – velvet, sequins, menswear suiting, fur and a smattering of animal print- you’re welcome!

The season is summed up very nicely in the Dries Van Noten show. My favourite of the season, the collection was inspired by Italian heiress and artist’s muse, Marchesa Luisa Casati and her lover, poet Gabriele D’Annunzio.

Opulent, mysterious and glamorous, the collection was full of stunning pieces which would last a lifetime.

A true creative, Dries is a designer’s designer who creates clothes that transcend fashion and trends, yet always  manage to tap into the seasons zeitgeist.

The New York Times recently featured an insight into the creative choices behind his Antwerp studio and his enormous fabric collection – which puts all my bags of scrap fabric into perspective.

I’ll take one of everything and that studio too please! he’s just a genius isn’t he?

Now I see why the clothes are so expensive…his massive heating bill.
If I had lots of cash I would buy my whole wardrobe from him, genius is often overused but, in his case I agree. There is an outlet store stocking him and other euro designers in Antwerp, which is a lovely city.

Yes, he certainly is a genius! Would love the address of the Antwerp outlet store Sarah mentioned.
