The Kenyan League of Extraordinary Grannies

Kenyan digital artist and photographer Osborne Macharia creates stunning portraits of ordinary Kenyans – the kind which are usually reserved for fashion models and celebrities. His latest collection tells the fictional story of a league of extravagant grannies – who were once corporate and government leaders in the 1970’s but are now retired and living the high life.

“They were once corporate and government leaders in the 1970’s but are now retired, living the high life, travelling to exotic and remote areas within Africa to explore, party and enjoy themselves in exclusivity.”

Mrs. Kamau Njuguna — former governor, Central Bank of Kenya (1980-1985)

Rs. S Were — former economist and personal adviser to the president (1972-1992)
