We love: Brogues

Fianl brogues

We have always loved a mans shoe, the more masculine and classic the better. Luckily for us the androgynous look is very key for Autumn/Winter, not that we actually care, as we would have worn them anyway, but it does mean there are a whole host of gorgeous brogues to chose from. Team them with a pair of black, slim line cigarette trousers, a crisp white shirt and contrasting red lipstick for a smart and slightly scary look (sometimes scary is a good look!)
The key to buying classic shoes is to spend a little more money than usual, as you can bet they will be so comfortable and durable that you will wear them for years to come. Plus cheap versions just don't look as good. Our favourites are the classic black pair from Churches for £190. The Rupert Sanderson ones are gorgeous too, but well over our budget. The best budget pair we have found are from ASOS for £60.
Let us know if you have have found any you love?

When i was a teenager, I had shoes that I adored, and wish I could find again. Maybe they qualify as brogues. They were brown leather, flats with about 3/4 inch stacked heel, rounded toes, lace up, with, and this is key, a kilt-type fringe flap that laced onto the front of the shoe. I know I had several pairs (purchased consecutively) but have not seen anything close since the mid 1970s.
